A new Review of Deadweight Undertow from John at Doom to Grind zine, have a read then listen to the album here :
https://orderofchaos.bandcamp.com/album/deadweight-undertow-2
Order Of Chaos are a band from Australia that plays a mixture of death metal and hardcore punk and this is a review of their 2014 album "Deadweight Undertow" which was released by Third Verse Records.
A very dark, melodic and distorted sound starts off the album before getting a little bit heavier along with some aggressive vocals a few seconds later which bring in elements as crustcore which sets up the pace for death metal growls and melodies to be added into the bands musical style along with some elements of old school hardcore.
At times some of the guitar riffing has a melodic death metal feeling to them at times along with a touch of early 90's style thrash and at times you can hear a touch of the mid 90's metalcore sound in certain sections of the recording and after awhile the music starts to speed up a bit at times and starts to incorporate a small amount of blast beats and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and a couple of the later tracks also shows the band bringing in a small amount of guitar solos and leads, towards the end the band also brings in a cover of Black Flag's "My War".
Order of Chaos takes the death metal elements of their past releases and mixes it with 90's hardcore and the raw energy of punk rock and while this is not I style i listen to regularly I still fell the band is very good at what t hey do, the production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Order Of Chaos are a very decent sounding mixture of death metal, hardcore and punk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMEND TRACKS INCLUDE "No Passion To The Grind" "Hand Over Fist" "Losing Limbs" and "My War". 7/5 out of 10.

Another review of our new album Deadweight Undertow surfaces, This one from Metal Temple. Cheers Guys.
Have a read but bear in mind we are a Death metal band with Hardcore and punk influence, we are certainly not a modern "Death Core " group !!!
Very appropriately named ORDER OF CHAOS, this Australian Deathcore outfit have brought forward their latest instalment to their discography. It is called “Deadweight Undertow”and to say it will give you a much-needed wake up call would be an understatement.
This chaotic group formed in 1995 with the intention of combining twin guitar harmonies of British Metal and the brutality of nineties American Death Metal containing lyrics about Anti Authority. This instalment adds elements of Punk and Hardcore.
The actual record itself provided me with some entertainment whilst waiting for delayed trains to make the station. After a less than promising start with “Dead On Arrival” where I all I could hear was guitar riffs going at a hundred miles per hour combined with growls, I was convinced that the rest of the record was going to consist of the same kind of noisy composure. Hence providing me with a reminder of why Deathcore stays out of my record collection. I was proved wrong however as the record progressed; the rest of these tracks were arranged in an excellent structure where you could enjoy each element of the track in your own unique way. I even found myself headbanging at the train station to tracks such as “Shadow Saviours”,“Deadweight Undertow” and “Losing Limbs”.
I can imagine a great deal of tracks from this album would be welcomed by the live crowds of their live shows or any kind of Deathcore festival with brutal mosh pits, stage diving and something called Hardcore dancing that I know all too well is a sin in the Metal community.
It ends with the track “Primrose Path” which you can imagine is not as sweet as the name suggests.
Overall this album wasn’t a bad one, considering that Deathcore isn’t my chosen genre of metal. It goes to show there are hidden treasures in places you wouldn’t have thought of looking.

The first review of Deadweight Undertow has surfaced, from Wonderbox metal:
"Order of Chaos are from Australia and play a combination of Underground Metal/Hardcore.
This is a hard one to pin down in some ways. It has elements of the more modern Metal/Metalcore sound, but also more of an unhinged, underground vibe and some definite Death Metal/violent Hardcore leanings.
This is more of the kind of thing I would have expected to come out of the UK rather than Australia; I’m thinking of bands like Corrupt Moral Altar, Charger, Raging Speedhorn, Labrat, Mindjuice, Mistress, The Rotted, etc.
Nonetheless, Australia it is, and it’s a good listen. The songs are typically about the 3 minute mark and are focused into little balls of heavy rage. They’re well written and have a good amount of energy. Although the emphasis is on heaviness, small amounts of melody get a look in here and there.
This is a good synthesis of modern-styled Metal with a violent Hardcore element keeping it grounded. It’s underground, nasty and rumbles along with a good chug and a healthy groove.
The singer sounds quite demented on occasion; the higher pitched he gets the more he appears to lose it.
It’s easy to like these songs as the emphasis is on ripping the listener’s face off before they even know what’s happened.
Songs for the moshpit."
